Welcome To Vedanta For Life
Vedanta For Life is a registered NPO with the Department of Social Development and focuses as its primary goal to enable food security in impoverished communities in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Our goal is to create a culture of self sufficiency in households, social welfare organisations , townships, informal settlements and public schools. The success of the intiative from the Department of Agriculture, Muncipalties , Local Councillors and Community Organisations.
Vedanta For Life intends to unite and connect all sectors of society, individuals, households, business, other non-profit organisations, community organisations and government to create and sustain long term positive social change. Vedanta’s focus is to improve lives of people in vulnerable communities in South Africa.

What We Do
Vedanta For Life is a Not-for-Profit organisation registered with the Department of Social Development and focuses as its primary goal to enable food security in impoverished communities in KwaZulu Natal.
Our goal is to create a culture of self-sufficiency in households, social welfare organisations, townships, informal settlements and public schools.
The success of the initiative is dependent on collaboration and support from the Department of Agriculture, Municipalities and Community Organisations. The impact of Covid-19 has further increased job losses and exacerbated poverty in the province with latest unemployment
figures at 20,5%.

Organisation Summary
Vedanta is a registered Not for Profit organization that focuses on food security in impoverished
communities in KwaZulu Natal. Our goal is to create a culture of self-sufficiency while empowering
women, youth and the unemployed.
The Social Need
The Vedanta team has extensive experience in facilitating community projects for more than 20
years and understand the devastating impact of COVID-19 on business, job losses and reduced or
eroded household incomes. This pandemic has further exacerbated poverty in our province, creating
additional hardship for parents to cater for their families’ basic needs.
Vedanta’s main objective is to help people create a better life for themselves and their families in a
sustainable way over the long term.
